On a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Samuelson Aquatics Center, the Cal Lutheran women’s water polo team ran into the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) first-place team and fell 14-9 at the hands of Whittier.

The final weekend of Spring Break for the Cal Lutheran women’s water polo got underway with a SCIAC game against La Verne at the Samuelson Aquatics Center where the Regals were unable to stop the Leopards in a 14-9 loss beneath gorgeous blue skies.

Goalie Gina Merry Reaches Career Milestone for Regals Water Polo

Gina Merry didn't have a countdown chart on her wall. The Cal Lutheran senior goalkeeper didn't even know she was close to reaching a milestone. It wasn't until CLU women's water polo coach Craig Rond called Merry to the front of the room that she realized what she had accomplished, becoming the program's all-time saves leader for women's water polo.

Regals Win Final Non-Conference Game

On a busy Tuesday at Cal Lutheran, the women’s water polo team hosted both Division I Bucknell (Pa.) and Division III Macalester (Minn.) at the Samuelson Aquatics Center, dropping the first, 10-4, before rounding out non-conference play in 2016 with a decisive 11-1 win.

Regals Clash in Claremont Convergence

On Friday and Saturday the Cal Lutheran women’s water polo team played four games at the 16-team Claremont Convergence Tournament at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer. CLU went 3-1 with wins over conference foe Chapman, Division II Concordia and Division I St. Francis.
