Cal Lutheran was never able to take the lead over the nation's current top ranked team on Saturday morning and dropped a 9-5 decision to Occidental at the Samuelson Aquatics Center. CLU never trailed by more than two until a 4-0 fourth quarter scoring run by the Tigers ended any chance of completing the comeback.

Cal Lutheran and Redlands needed sudden death overtime to settle the score. Despite a school record 18 saves from CLU goalkeeper Jessika Bell, UR junior Jamie Nippert tallied the final goal in a 10-9 decision handing the Regals their second straight overtime loss to start conference play.
