Tristan Baer enters his third year with Cal Lutheran Track and Field as the sprints, hurdles, and relays coach for both the Kingsmen and Regals. Additionally, he also helps head the recruiting for the men's and women's sprints and jumps program.
In his first two years with Cal Lutheran, Baer coached 17 athletes and relay teams into Top-10 finishes on the Cal Lutheran All-Time records list as well as 23 All-SCIAC honors between both the men's and women's side. During his second year, he coached the women's 4x100 team to a SCIAC Conference Championship; a title they will look to defend in 2017.
A native of Orangevale, Calif., Baer chose to make make the trek south and attend Cal Lutheran as a student-athlete in 2009. He graduated from CLU in 2013 with a degree in business administration with a double emphasis in management and marketing. In Spring 2016, he completed his Master's degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
Baer competed for the Kingsmen track team as a sprinter and as a member of both relay teams. A ten-time All-SCIAC recipient, he was a part of the 4x400 relay team that currently ranks second in CLU history with a time of 3:14.83. He is also a member of the school record holding 4x200 relay quartet and also occupies many other spots on the Top-10 list for both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. Baer competed at the NCAA Division III National Championships twice, both as a freshmen and a senior. He is also a two time USTFCCCA All-Academic recipient.
