NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region honorees this morning and Cal Lutheran landed six selections between the two programs.

Overall, 935 men and 945 women finished with All-Region honors after placing among the top-five individually in each event within the region or as a top-three finisher on a relay.

Cal Lutheran had five men recognized as All-West Region with the 4x100m Relay team of Christian Brodnax, Obasi Dees, Cameron James and Wendell O’Brien joining forces for a 41.59 finish at the Redlands Final Qualifier last week to move into sixth all-time at Cal Lutheran while locking up the recognition. Dees went on to add a second award by running the 200m in a season-best time of 21.74 to move into a tie for sixth at CLU in his first season of collegiate running. Finally, Timmy Kahovec earned All-West Region accolades with a lifetime best 800m run of 1:52.25, at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships to climb into second all-time for the Violet and Gold as a junior.

On the women’s side, Kendall Guidetti garnered All-West Region honors after a Long Jump of 5.75m, which not only won the freshman a SCIAC title, but it propelled her to the top of the CLU record books and punched her a ticket to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships later this week in Geneva, Ohio.

It is the first All-West Region selection for all six Cal Lutheran student-athletes.
