In the final Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match of the regular season, the Cal Lutheran women’s tennis team shut out Chapman 9-0 at Costa Mesa Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
Playing on the Poulson Tennis Center Courts for the final time in the four-year careers of seniors Shelby Kubota and Emily Werman, the Cal Lutheran women’s tennis team worked to an 8-1 SCIAC victory over Occidental this morning.
Cal Lutheran is one of 450 Division III institutions around the country. During the week of April 3-9, all members will host Division III Week, aimed at celebrating what those schools have to offer student-athletes in the classroom, in the field of play and in the community during the 43rd year of the NCAA.
In non-conference action on Wednesday night, a match between the Cal Lutheran women’s tennis team and visiting Whitworth came down to the wire with the Pirates emerging as the victors in a 5-4 final at Poulson Tennis Center.
The Cal Lutheran women’s tennis team continued its home stand with another non-conference match on Monday evening, falling just short to the Southwestern (Texas) Pirates 6-3 at the Poulson Tennis Center.
