Regals Conclude Opening Weekend of SCIAC Competition

Within a 24-hour time frame the Cal Lutheran women's swimming and diving team took on two Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponents. The second was an early morning road trip to Redlands in which Cal Lutheran suffered a 180-49 defeat.

It was a promising start to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opener for the Cal Lutheran women's swimming and diving team on Friday afternoon, but Occidental overtook the lead late in earning a 128-106 decision as the Regals made their season debut.

At an early-season competition the Cal Lutheran men's and women's swimming and diving teams were in action at the Malibu Invitational on Saturday. CLU was just one of two NCAA Division III schools at the meet that was held at the Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool on the campus of Pepperdine University.

The Kingsmen and Regals are readying for the 2010-11 season that will officially begin on Oct. 22 with the two-day Malibu Invitational. The meet will be the first competition of the winter sports teams as CLU makes the trip to nearby Pepperdine University.

CLU Athletics Releases Fall Broadcast Schedule

Cal Lutheran University has announced it will produce an online broadcast for selected matches during the 2010 fall athletics season with plans to continue throughout the upcoming academic year. The broadcast schedule will begin this weekend on Friday, Sept. 10 with the Cal-Lu-fornia Invitational volleyball event.


Women's Swimming and Diving All-Decade Team Announced

Despite the program's inception coming in 2003-04, the Regals swimming and diving team has produced a number of SCIAC Champions and NCAA National Championship qualifiers in its seven-year history. In just four short years the team had moved from a winless inaugural season and five team members to a third place SCIAC finish for the 2006-07 season including eight medal finishes at the SCIAC Championship meet.


Cal Lutheran to Release All-Decade Teams Over Upcoming Months

The CLU athletics department will be honoring its finest athletes over the past 10 years by releasing Cal Lutheran All-Decade Teams throughout the upcoming summer. The reigning SCIAC Champion football team will be the first of 19 programs to have its all-decade team announced, schedule to be released on Monday, May 24.


CLU Scholar-Athlete Society Inducts 91 for 2009-10

The Cal Lutheran Scholar-Athlete Society held its annual banquet on May 8 and inducted 91 student-athletes for achieving at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA during the 2009-10 academic year. Seven CLU senior athletes were honored after making their fourth appearance in as many years.
