Throughout the school year, much of the day-to-day focus is directed towards the successes of the Cal Lutheran athletics programs, but on Saturday, May 7, a group of 150 student-athletes, with their families and friends, gathered inside of the Gilbert Arena for the 13th CLU Scholar-Athlete Society Induction ceremony where academics were praised.
The final day of the season came to a head today at the 2016 Men’s and Women’s SCIAC Golf Championships at the Oak Valley Golf Club where the men’s race came down to the wire in one of the closest finishes in conference history.
Competing in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) No. 2 over the weekend, the Cal Lutheran women’s golf team came away with a fifth place finish after posting a two-day total of 703 (+127) at South Hills Country Club.
Cal Lutheran is one of 450 Division III institutions around the country. During the week of April 4-10, all members will host Division III Week, aimed at celebrating what those schools have to offer student-athletes in the classroom, in the field of play and in the community during the 42nd year of the NCAA.
California Lutheran University has entered into an agreement with the Los Angeles Rams to allow the team to base its training operations on the university’s Thousand Oaks campus for at least two years.
The Cal Lutheran women’s golf team traveled to Louisiana to start spring break and the Regals came away with a second place finish at The Golf Club at StoneBridge for the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate with a team score of 683.
