The second and final SCIAC multi-dual match of the spring took place this weekend at the South Hills Golf Course where the Cal Lutheran women’s golf team placed fifth after shooting a 36-hole total of 654 (+86).
Cal Lutheran is one of 450 Division III institutions around the country. During the week of April 3-9, all members will host Division III Week, aimed at celebrating what those schools have to offer student-athletes in the classroom, in the field of play and in the community during the 43rd year of the NCAA.
The Cal Lutheran women’s golf team competed in the inaugural Ogio Bulldog Classic at Indian Springs Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday, and finished with a team total of 646 (+70) to tie for fifth overall.
Announced on Monday afternoon by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Chloe Barnes of the Cal Lutheran women’s golf team was named Athlete of the Week based on her performance at the Battle at Primm golf tournament on Monday and Tuesday.
To kick off spring break, the Cal Lutheran women’s golf team travelled to the Primm Battle hosted by Grand View University to play a 36-hole tournament at the Primm Valley Resort Golf Club, placing 12th against teams from various levels from across the country.
It was another beautiful day at the Sunset Hills Golf Course for the conclusion of the Fourth Annual Cal Lutheran Invitational that featured seven teams from the region and beyond playing the 5806-yard, par-72 course for the second day.
On a gorgeously clear, yet warm March day, the Cal Lutheran women’s golf team hosted the Fourth Annual Cal Lutheran Invitational at Sunset Hills Golf Course where seven teams met to compete in the 36-hole event.
Two weeks after opening its spring schedule, the Cal Lutheran women’s golf team swung into league action at the SCIAC No. 1 played at the San Dimas Golf Course. The Regals placed fourth by shooting a 36-hole total of 682 (342-340).
The spring season for the Cal Lutheran women’s golf team got underway at the Point Loma Nazareth University Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 6-7 at the Riverwalk Golf Course where the Regals tied for ninth in a competitive field of Division I, II, III and NAIA programs.
The Cal Lutheran women’s golf team will field its largest team since the inception of the program in 2012 during the 2016-17 season. Three returning Regals will be joined by six talented incoming student-athletes.
