Coach Kassie (Phillis) Livesey is in her second year as an assistant coach of the Cal Lutheran volleyball program. She is primarily in charge of coaching the middle blockers.

Under her tutelage, middle blocker Shannon Pearson earned Third Team All-America honors after recording 292 kills while hitting for a .278 average.

Prior to Cal Lutheran, she coached the freshman-sophomore team at Moorpark High School in 2010. In 2011, she coached the freshman-sophomore team at Newbury Park High School where she had an undefeated season in league play. During that time, Phillis also coached club volleyball at the 14’s and 15’s level at California Heat Volleyball Club.

Currently Livesey teaches mathematics at Newbury Park High School. She received a B.S. in Mathematics with a Teaching Concentration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2009 after receiving an A.A. in 2006 from Moorpark College.  She then received her teaching credential from Cal Lutheran University in 2010 followed by a Masters in Teaching Education in 2012.

In her spare time, Livesey enjoys spending time with family, playing volleyball and going to the lake.
