Cal Lutheran volleyball earned a pair of 3-0 victories to close out its weekend schedule sweeping both Stevens Tech and Haverford. A lengthy first set comeback victory against the host Fords set the tone for the rest of that match and the team's third straight sweep.

Cal Lutheran split its pair of Saturday contests to open the Haverford Invitational and its season. The No. 8 Regals lost in three sets to No. 4 Christopher Newport before finishing the day with a sweep of their own against Frostburg State.

In 2010 there was no doubt which team was best in the SCIAC after Cal Lutheran went undefeated to earn the conference title. This year a much different unit hopes to repeat and return to the NCAA playoffs for the fifth time in the past six seasons.


CLU Volleyball Ranked No. 8 in National Poll

Cal Lutheran volleyball will start out this season ranked No. 8 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll, released earlier today. The ranking comes off a season in which the Regals won 29 straight matches and were one set shy of reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
