Stewart's Play Gives Cal Lutheran Hope for Another Title

A championship ring has become a symbol of the ultimate success for most athletes. Last season, California Lutheran University volleyball player Hope Stewart and her Regals teammates received rings for winning the NCAA Division III championship, the first volleyball national title in school history.

Regals to Host SCIAC Postseason Tournament Semifinal

After winning a seventh consecutive Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championship during the regular season, the No. 2 Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball team will host its seventh straight SCIAC Postseason Tournament. The Regals (23-4, 14-2 SCIAC) locked up the No. 1 seed for the tournament after a tie-breaker with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and will host No. 4 seed Pomona-Pitzer (13-12, 8-8 SCIAC) this Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7:00 p.m. inside Gilbert Arena.

Announced on Tuesday by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) office, four Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball student-athletes were selected to the All-SCIAC team.

Regals Clinch SCIAC Championship

The No. 2 Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball team went up against Pomona-Pitzer in their final regular season contest and defeated the Sagehens 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-13, 25-17) to capture a share of their seventh straight Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title. It is 13th title in program history and the Regals will advance to their eighth consecutive SCIAC Postseason Tournament.

The No. 2 Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball team went up against No. 22 La Verne in last home contest of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and defeated the Leopards in three straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-17).

Regals Sweep Past Occidental

The No. 5 Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball team competed in its second to last road match of the season against Occidental and took the match 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 29-27) over the Tigers on Saturday evening. With the win, the Regals sit in first place in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) with a half-game lead over La Verne and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Regals Outlast Panthers in Four Sets

The No. 5 Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball team competed against the Chapman Panthers in a four-set thriller, with both teams playing their best volleyball, and pulled out a 3-1 (17-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22) victory on Tuesday night.

Regals Top Bulldogs in Breast Cancer Awareness Match

The No. 7 Cal Lutheran women’s volleyball team hosted Redlands in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play on Saturday night and took down the Bulldogs in straight sets 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-20) on an evening dedicated to promoting awareness for breast cancer.
