LEXINGTON, Ky. - Cal Lutheran placed four of its team members on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-West Region team. Jackie Russell, Kylie McLogan, Shannon Pearson and Casy McWhirk round out the Regal honorees.

Official Release: D-III Regional Awards

Russell, McLogan and Pearson each earned first team honors. Of the 14 players from the West region selected to the first team, three came from Cal Lutheran and six out of the SCIAC including a pair from Chapman.

Russell and Colorado College setter Amy Schornack are the only two players from the West to have been named to the AVCA West Region First Team three times. She is the first player in Cal Lutheran history to be named three times to the All-Region squad.

CLU newcomers McLogan and Pearson each earned the honor in their first season with the Regals. McLogan leads the Regals in kills and Pearson in hitting percentage thus far in 2011.

McWhirk was tabbed an honorable mention selection for the second straight year. The senior ranks third in kills and digs, and second in assists on this year's squad.

Cal Lutheran will head to Nationals on the campus of Washington Univ.-St. Louis to face Wittenberg on Friday, Nov. 18, in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
