LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2019 All-America teams and Maci Haddad of Cal Lutheran women's volleyball earned Honorable Mention honors.
Haddad (Bakersfield, Calif.) is the ninth Regal to garner All-America status twice and joins the elite company of Mo Coverdale, Allie Eason, Allison Kerr, Michelle Lawrence, Kylie McLogan, Shannon Pearson, Sarah Poppas and Jackie (Russell) Griffin.
"Thank you to the voters and committee members of the AVCA," said Regals volleyball Head Coach Kellee Roesel. "What an amazing honor for both Maci and the Cal Lutheran Women's Volleyball program. This award is a tribute to her hard work, dedication and belief. Assistant Coach, Monica Lundgren, has done such a wonderful job mentoring Maci and it is proven by such recognition."
Haddad wrapped up an All-America sophomore season after also being named First Team All-West Region and First Team All-SCIAC. She tallied 94 total blocks, 0.90 blocks per set and a hitting percentage of .316. Haddad also led CLU to 26th in the nation for blocks per set (1.97).
In the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Haddad ranked third in hitting percentage (.316), block assists (84) and total blocks (94). She is also fifth in points (310.0) and ninth in kills (252).
This is the 39th year that the AVCA has done NCAA Division III All-America teams. The awards will be presented Nov. 20 at the NCAA Division III Women's National Championship banquet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where the 2019 TeamSnap/AVCA Division III Player of the Year will be announced.
