Cal Lutheran Soccer Elite and Kids Camps

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— The Cal Lutheran soccer programs are hosting two camps this summer for athletes interested in improving their skills and playing at the collegiate level. Led by the CLU coaching staffs, the Kingsmen and Regals offer Elite and Kids camps.

The Elite Camp is June 24-28, July 8-12 and July 22-26. It is open to all boys and girls aged 8-12. The low coach-to-caper ratio (1:8) offers 15 hours on on-field instruction, individual attention and player evaluations. Athletes will be grouped by gender and by age with the age ranges from 8-10 and 11-12.

The Kids Camp will be held June 15-17, June 24-28, July 8-12 and July 22-26. It provides athletes with a low coach-to-camper ratio (1:12), 15 hours of on field instruction and individual attention.

Head coach of the Kingsmen, Miguel Ruiz, is entering his second year at Cal Lutheran. He previously coached for the CSUN women's soccer program, developing the team's training regimens and handling soccer operations. He then became the head coach for the women's soccer team at Moorpark College in 2015, extending his coaching tenure to over a decade.

Women's head coach Frank Marino was named the 2017 SCIAC Coach of the Year after leading the Regals to the regular season conference title and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament, for the program's Sweet Sixteen berth. In his 10 years of coaching, Marino holds five SCIAC regular season titles and one conference tournament title in route to 146-48-22 overall record, the second-most wins in by any coach in program history.
