Kingsmen Season Comes to a Close

SALEM, Ore. - On Saturday the Cal Lutheran men's cross country team concluded their season with their final competition of 2016. The Kingsmen raced in the West Regionals in Salem, Ore. and were led by junior Timmy Kahovec, who navigated the course in 27:54.2.

Alex Johnston was the second finisher for the Violet and Gold, clocking in at 28:45.8. Christian Rider claimed the third spot, coming in shortly after at 29:12.8.

Also competing for Cal Lutheran were Henry Friederichs (29:31.0), Daniel Tustin (30:03.1), and Michael Miller (30:14.8).

The individual champion was sophomore Brad Hodkinson from Pacific Lutheran, who flew through the course and finished in 25:40.4, winning by a margin of seven seconds.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the team title after having four scoring runners within the top 16 competitors, and finishing with an overall team average of 26:14. The NCAA Division III National Championships will take place in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11:00 a.m.
