PASADENA, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's golf finished sixth in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) after recording a three-round score of 57-over-par at the SCIAC Championships which was held Thursday through Saturday at the Brookside Golf Course.
The conference championship consists of the SCIAC No. 1, No. 2 and the SCIAC Championships. The Kingsmen shot a 301 in round one, 308 in round two and a 304 in round three. Overall, CLU finished with 2,135 strokes.
Stefan Nelson tied for 16th at the event after recording a 12-over-par with 226 strokes. He tallied a 2-over-par 72 over the final 18 holes as he moved up into the tie. He also shot a 76 over the first 18 holes and a 78 on the second 18.
Jake Rosen scored the second-best total for the Kingsmen and tied for 21st at 15-over-par. He recorded a 77 in the first round and a 76 in the second and third for a total of 229 strokes.
Craig Thorlakson and Drake Jones also competed for the Violet and Gold. Thorlakson placed 40th at 31-over-par (88-79-78-245). Jones only completed two round and did not turn in a final score. He shot a 73 in the first round, a 78 in the final round, but took a zero in round two.
The conference championships rounded out spring play for the Kingsmen. They finished sixth out of eight teams.
