NORMAN, Okla. — Cal Lutheran's Tyler Ferrier was named to the 2018 Division III PING All-West Region Team which was announced Tuesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
A total of 100 plyers across six regions – Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Great Lakes, Central and West – earned all-region honors for 2018. Ferrier was one of six golfers that were chosen from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
This is the first all-region honor for Ferrier. He also earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors during his 2018 campaign. He competed in nine tournaments and 23 rounds of golf. He led the team and shot eight rounds of Par or better. His season-low round was a 4-under-par of 68, which he shot at the SCIAC No. 1.
Ferrier's best finish of the year was runner-up at the Centenary Invitational (73-80-153) and the SCIAC No. 1 (68-74-142). He placed in the top-10 five more times. Ferrier finished the year with a stroke average of 74.3. He helped the helped the Kingsmen win the Centenary Invitational. CLU also placed second at the SCIAC Championships.
