FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton's Kyle Allman scored a game-high 22 points as the Titans defeated the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen, 86-58, Saturday night inside Titan Gym.
The Kingsmen had a rough shooting night as they went 21-of-59 from the field (35.6 percent) and 7-of-28 from three-point range (25 percent).
The Titans are now 3-3 on the season. After Allman, Jackson Rowe scored the second-most points at 15. Arkim Robertson led the team in rebounds with seven and Jamal Smith had the most assists on the team with five.
The Kingsmen had the lead early on. With the score tied at 11, the Titans used a 12-3 run and had a 23-14 lead. Cal Lutheran cut the lead to four multiple times in the first half, but Cal State Fullerton was right there with an answer each time. With 1:25 left in the half, Miles hit a three as the Titans only led 35-34. Cal State scored the final five points of the half and led 40-34 at the break.
The Titans scored the first seven points of the second half and pushed their lead to 47-34. The Kingsmen got the lead under 10 a few times, but couldn't complete a full comeback. Cal State Fullerton opened up the lead throughout the second half and walked away with the 86-58 victory.
The Kingsmen continue the season on the road and travel to Occidental, Calif., and begin Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action against Occidental at 6 p.m.
