On New Year's Day, Kingsmen basketball will be the first official team competing for Cal Lutheran in the calendar year of 2018 when the squad hosts Chapman for a 7:00 p.m. start in SCIAC action. Two days later on Jan. 3, Whittier comes to town for another 7:00 p.m. tip-off.

The remainder of the home dates in 2018 include Jan. 13 (Redlands), Jan. 24 (Occidental), Jan. 27 (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps), Feb. 10 (Pomona-Pitzer), Feb. 14 (Caltech) and Feb. 20 (La Verne), which also serves as senior night. Games against UR, CMS and PP are set for 2:00 p.m. while the remaining are night contests at 7:00 p.m.

CLU is on the road for the eight additional games with seven against SCIAC opponents and one quick trip to UC Santa Cruz on Feb. 7 to play the Banana Slugs at 7:00 p.m. The Violet and Gold travel to Pomona-Pitzer (Jan. 5), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Jan. 8), Caltech (Jan. 17), La Verne (Jan. 20), Whittier (Jan. 31), Chapman (Feb. 3) and Redlands (Feb. 17).

The top-four teams in the SCIAC standings at the conclusion of the regular season will advance to the SCIAC Postseason Tournament on Feb. 23 and 24.
