WHITTIER, Calif. - In Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) road action on Friday afternoon, the No. 13 Cal Lutheran baseball team blasted past Whittier 13-3 to mark the 12th straight win for the Kingsmen and seventh straight in conference play.

Max Weinstein opened the game with an infield hit and Sinjin Todd followed with a single to right. With two on and nobody out, Gabe Gunter knocked a double to right to bring home Weinstein. Jimmy Jauregui, Weston Clark and Brad Fullerton also added RBIs in the opening frame.

Gunter doubled with one out in the top of the third inning, and one batter later came around to score on a Jauregui base hit.

The Poets homered in the third to get on the board and make it a 5-1 game, but CLU blew it wide open with another four-run inning in the top of the fifth. Jauregui doubled with one out to get things started and was followed by a Clark hit-by-pitch and a Fullerton single to load the bases. Cheynne Giles doubled down the left field line to score two while Trey Saito came through with an RBI single on the very next at bat. An RBI groundout from Austin Kay capped off the scoring in the inning.

The Kingsmen would tack on another run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to blow away the first game of the series.
