Wright Earns All-West Region Distinction
Sophomore standout earns D3Hoops.com honor

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Sophomore Starla Wright was named to
the D3Hoops.com
All-West Region Team, announced on Monday. Earning third team honors, she
is one of only three underclassmen to earn west region honors in 2011.

All-West Region Team
After earning all-SCIAC first team honors in each of her first two seasons
of collegiate basketball, Wright played her way to an all-region selection for
the first time. She led Cal Lutheran in scoring (12.0 ppg) and ranked second in
rebounds (6.2 rpg).
Her conference ranks include eighth in scoring, 11th in rebounding, third in
offensive rebounds, and ninth in field goal percentage. In two years she has
scored 568 points and is on pace to become the 10th player in CLU history to
score 1,000 career points.
Two members of the Southern California Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (SCIAC) made the list including conference player of the
year Mariah Barbetti-Cort from Redlands earning second team honors.
Hannah Munger, a sophomore from George Fox was named West Region Player of the
Year. Maggie Weiers of St. Thomas was named West Region Rookie of the Year.
Randi Peterson from Coe was named West Region Coach of the Year.
