Heagy Nets All-WWPA Selection
CLU senior earns postseason recognition
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Cal Lutheran's Matt Heagy was named to the all-Western
Water Polo Association (WWPA) team, released earlier this week. The senior
two-meter man led the Kingsmen with 57 goals and 28 drawn exclusions to earn a
spot on the Honorable Mention team.

Heagy (San Mateo, Calif./Junipero Serra HS) leaves the men's water polo
program as the all-time leader in goals scored (274) and assists (98), while
ranking second in drawn exclusions (122) and third in steals (141).
He became the first Kingsmen to earn first team all-SCIAC honors doing so
three straight years from 2006-08. Heagy is also the first to earn first team
all-American doing so in his junior season.
Cal Lutheran finishes the 2009 campaign with a
national ranking of No. 8, a fifth place finish overall in the SCIAC and a
9-18, 6-4 SCIAC record.
