Robertson, Chacon Collect Postseason Honors
Regal sophomores earn awards for 2008 season

Robertson on the California Lutheran University softball team were selected to
the 2008 All-SCIAC Second Team. Along with the conference honor Robertson was
named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-West Region Third Team.
Robertson, a catcher, collected team-highs with a .364 batting average, 30 runs
scored, 35 RBI, 12 home runs and a .818 slugging percentage. She started in all
38 games for the Regals and also posted a team-best mark with 18 walks. The
selections are the first for Robertson on the all-conference and all-region
teams.
Chacon pitched in 30 of the team’s 38 games and started in 23 of them. She
posted a 3.30 earned run average and collected 15 wins. In her 23 starts, she
pitched 17 complete games and three shutouts. Over the season she pitched in a
total of 154.2 innings and tallied 129 strikeouts. At the plate, Chacon batted
.340, second on the team behind Robertson and was also second in RBI with 21.
The selection marked her second of her career, as last year she was named to
the first team as a freshman.
Cal Lutheran (19-19, 11-13 SCIAC) finished the season in a tie for fifth place
with Whittier College.
