THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The California Lutheran University men’s water polo team will play its first ever contest in the newly built Samuelson Aquatics Center on Thursday night at 6 pm against Mercyhurst (PA) College. The game is the tournament opener of the Inaugural CLU Fall Tournament, a three-day event that will play host to 10 other teams throughout the country.
Cal Lutheran will make history with tomorrow’s contest, but also become a part of another school’s history in Friday’s opener. The second day of action pits the Kingsmen against Fresno Pacific University, a team that will be participating in its first ever aquatics event in the history of the institution.
CLU rose in the Division III poll earlier today by moving up one spot to earn the No. 4 ranking, the highest in the program’s history.
The entire tournament schedule can be located on the CLU men’s water polo schedule page by clicking the CLU Tournament (Sept. 13-15) link or by clicking here .
The Kingsmen will play five games in three days including Western Water Polo Association foes the University of La Verne and Chapman University on Saturday.
