REDLANDS, Calif. - Tonight on the road at Redlands, the Cal Lutheran men's basketball team was unable to return to the win column in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play after falling by a 75-68 margin to the Bulldogs.
Offensive Highlights: CLU shot 42.6 percent from the floor tonight. The Kingsmen were paced by Dan Wade with a career-high 29 points. He added four assists as well. Coby De Laveaga came off the bench for 15 points, going 6-for-7 from the field, while both Sam Cirillo and Jeremy Sulker-Hall added eight points.
Defensive Highlights: At the defensive end of the court, Cal Lutheran grabbed 29 rebounds, led by Sulker-Hall and Curtis Opsahl with four apiece. Sulker-Hall also recorded the only two blocks of the game and Wade and Lanaki Apele each nabbed a pair of steals.
The Opponent: The Bulldogs took a 41-30 advantage into the locker room and never trailed. A trio of players reached double figure scoring for UR. Al Bjekovic notched a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Maroon and Gray.
Notables: The Kingsmen dropped their third straight for the first time since the 2012-13 season.
Next Up: Cal Lutheran (5-6, 1-3 SCIAC) returns to the Gilbert Arena on Saturday, Jan. 16 for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off against Whittier as the front end of a double header with the women's basketball team.
