A record-setting group of 99 student-athetes from 19 teams at
California Lutheran University were recognized by the school's Scholar
Athlete Society at a year-end banquet. All the students maintained a
3.4 GPA or higher for the academic year while particpating as a NCAA
Division III student-athlete.

Six of the 10 Cal Lutheran men's athletic programs secured
top three conference finishes earning a fourth place result in the 2008-09
SCIAC All-Sports Standings. Points are awarded based on final conference standings
for each of the nine SCIAC sports and awarded to each institution respectively.

California Lutheran University men's water polo players
Matt Heagy, Jeff Chaney and Jordan Bouey were selected to the Collegiate Water
Polo Association (CWPA) and Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches
(ACWPC) Division III All-America teams. Matt Heagy become the first Kingsmen in program
history to earn a first team selection, doing so on both lists.

The California Lutheran University men's water polo team dropped a 9-12
decision to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at the Samuelson Aquatics Center on Sunday
afternoon. The Sagehens make it back-to-back SCIAC tournament and overall
titles following the victory.

The California Lutheran University men's water polo team knocked off top seed
University of Redlands 13-11 to earn the right to play in the SCIAC Tournament
Championship final. The Kingsmen will face No. 2 seed Pomona-Pitzer at 2:30
p.m. on Sunday for the tournament and overall SCIAC title.
