In front of a good sized crowd on Friday night, the Cal Lutheran men’s volleyball team picked up its first win of the season against Moorpark College with a 3-0 (25-23, 31-29, 25-16) sweep inside Gilbert Arena.
The Cal Lutheran men’s volleyball team rallied from two sets down to force a fifth set against Concordia-Irvine on Friday night, but fell short against the Eagles 3-2 (25-20, 28-26, 22-25, 19-25, 15-7).
The Cal Lutheran men’s volleyball team traveled down the road to take on the No. 15 ranked NCAA Division I Cal State Northridge Matadors on Thursday night and put up a valiant effort before falling 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-19).

The early season schedule for the Cal Lutheran men’s volleyball team did not get any easier on Thursday night as the Kingsmen welcomed No. 8 Vassar (N.Y.) to Gilbert Arena and fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-22).
The Cal Lutheran men’s volleyball team kicked off its second season of NCAA Division III existence with a tough battle against Division II opponent Mount Olive (N.C.) inside Gilbert Arena on Monday night. The Kingsmen showed some resilience late in the match but ultimately fell to the Trojans 3-1 (25-9, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18) in their home opener.
The Cal Lutheran men’s volleyball team is coming off of its inaugural season and is revamped for 2017. The Kingsmen enter the new year with an even blend of nine returners and nine newcomers which creates a diverse yet very experienced group.
The 2015-16 academic year was a memorable one for the Cal Lutheran athletics department. With 430 student-athletes occupying 460 roster spots, a number of milestones were met including the first NCAA Division III National title in school history, which was achieved by the women’s volleyball team, and an individual national champion crowned to round out the year.
Throughout the school year, much of the day-to-day focus is directed towards the successes of the Cal Lutheran athletics programs, but on Saturday, May 7, a group of 150 student-athletes, with their families and friends, gathered inside of the Gilbert Arena for the 13th CLU Scholar-Athlete Society Induction ceremony where academics were praised.
