In a weekend Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) matchup against Whittier, the Cal Lutheran men’s soccer team dropped a heartbreaker, 3-2 in double overtime against the Poets at Rolland Stadium.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Means More to CLU in 2015

As the month of September comes to a close so does Childhood Cancer Awareness month, which for two Cal Lutheran fall teams has more meaning than ever before. Both the men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams drafted a childhood cancer survivor through Cancer Fit, Inc. as part of their team in 2015 and that has made an impact on all involved.

For the second consecutive game, the Cal Lutheran men’s soccer team hit the road. An early deficit was too much for the Kingsmen to overcome as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags stifled the visiting team in a 5-1 SCIAC loss tonight.

Announced on Tuesday by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Cal Lutheran soccer player Brandon Kearney was selected as the Male Athlete of the Week for his performance the week of Sept. 21-27.

The longest SCIAC road-trip of the season for the Cal Lutheran men’s soccer team came tonight when the Kingsmen travelled to Redlands where teams needed 20 extra minutes of action before the squads walked away with a 2-2 draw.

Kearney Hat-Trick Propels CLU Past Beavers

After falling behind in the second half to Caltech, the Cal Lutheran men’s soccer team needed overtime to defeat the Beavers 3-2 in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) matchup on Wednesday night at Rolland Stadium. Brandon Kearney was the man with the Midas touch, providing a hat-trick for CLU, along with the golden goal in overtime.

Following a pair of SCIAC games, the Cal Lutheran men’s soccer team welcomed George Fox to William Rolland Stadium for a non-conference contest tonight. Unfortunately for the home squad, the visiting Bruins blanked the Kingsmen 1-0.
