Nicole Crawford

Assistant Coach/Distances

Nicole Crawford returns for a fourth season as an assistant coach for both CLU cross country and track and field teams.

In 2010, Crawford combined efforts with head coach Matt Lea to help
Toccoa Kahovec and Ray Ostrander earn a highly coveted spot at the NCAA
Cross Country Championships.

During the 2011 track season she coached junior All-American Toccoa
Kahovec to an eighth place finish at the NCAA Division III National
Championships in the steeplechase. Kahovec won a SCIAC title in that
event along with a runner-up finish in the 1,500 meters.

In 2009 she worked with junior harrier Ray Ostrander who became just the
third Kingsmen in program history to earn a spot at the NCAA Cross
Country National Championship meet.

During her first year working with the distance runners she led athletes
Ray Ostrander and Nicole Flanary to All-West Region honors in cross
country.

She competed on the cross country and track and field teams at Oregon
State University for four years and competed in five Pac-10
Championships and two regional meets. As of Dec. 2008 she was ranked
fourth in the 10,000 meter at her alma mater.

While at OSU she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology. At
CLU she earned a Master's of Science degree in counseling psychology
with emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy. Crawford is currently
pursuing her doctorate in Psy.D. at Cal Lutheran.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, trail running,
reading, spending time with friends, family and dog Zoey.
