Cal Lutheran is one of 450 Division III institutions around the country. During the week of April 6-12, all members will host Division III Week, aimed at celebrating what those schools have to offer student-athletes in the classroom, in the field of play and in the community during the 41st year of the NCAA.
Before the athletes and coaches at Cal Lutheran could prove their worth in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the university needed an advocate to help build bridges in the transition.
Announced recently by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) office, Dr. Paul Hanson of Cal Lutheran has been honored as the 2015 Distinguished Service Award recipient. Dr. Hanson has served as the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) for close to 20 years, sharing his depth of experience and wisdom with the SCIAC and helped to forge the course for Division III athletics in Southern California.

After a night full of rain and a morning of clear skies during warm-ups, the clouds dropped some more precipitation just as the SCIAC Championships neared a start. Through the cloudy skies and wet course the Cal Lutheran men’s cross country team combined for an eight place finish overall this fall.
At the Seventh Annual Pomona-Pitzer Invitational this morning, the Cal Lutheran men’s cross country team put their pre-season schedule in the books by completing their final race before league competition gets underway. The Kingsmen combined to finish 15th in a competitive field laced with Division I, II, III and NAIA opponents.
