The Cal Lutheran men’s basketball team opened up the 22nd Annual Thrivent Final Tournament with an 87-65 rout over Alfred (N.Y.) inside Gilbert Arena on Thursday night to advance to the championship tomorrow against Lake Forest (Ill.)
Announced on Monday afternoon by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Austin Cole from the Cal Lutheran men’s basketball team, and Sofia Cruz of the Regals basketball team, were named Athlete of the Week for their respective sports based on their performance during the week of Dec. 12-18.
The Kingsmen returned to Gilbert Arena on Sunday afternoon for their second home contest this season, and came out on top against UC Santa Cruz, 74-61. Cal Lutheran is now off to a 6-0 start this season.
In the first home game of the season, the Cal Lutheran men’s basketball team used a big second half to pull away from Bethesda and treat the home crowd to a 108-91 victory inside Gilbert Arena on Thursday night. With the win, the Kingsmen are off to a 5-0 start for the first time since the 1996-97 season.
The Cal Lutheran men’s basketball team continued its hot start to the season with a pair of wins in Oregon over the Thanksgiving holiday. On Friday, the Kingsmen topped Lewis & Clark 87-83 before defeating George Fox 91-83 on Saturday.
For the first time of the 2016-17 season, the Cal Lutheran men’s basketball team stepped on the hardwood and came away with a pair of victories to start the year at the Mission Inn Classic. On Friday night, the Kingsmen cruised to a 73-62 win over UC Santa Cruz after a hot start and capped off the road trip with a 70-67 win over Linfield (Ore.) on Saturday.
