During Division III Week Cal Lutheran will feature a number of student-athletes. Sophomore volleyball player Allie Eason is on two CLU Top-10 lists and has been a mentor for a cancer survivor who loves the same game she does.
Cal Lutheran is one of 448 Division III institutions around the country. During the week of April 7-13, all members will host Division III Week, aimed at celebrating what those schools have to offer student-athletes in the classroom, in the field of play and in the community during the 40th year of the NCAA.
At the conclusion of each academic and athletic year the school with the most combined championships points in Division III is honored with the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup. In 2012-13 Cal Lutheran climbed in the standings from 51st a year ago to 43rd out of 328 schools nationwide this year.
Each year Cal Lutheran athletics honors senior Athletes of the Year. In 2012-13 there were three standout performers with Male co-Athlete of the Year accolades presented to Nicholas Ballou and Eric Rogers while Shannon Pearson took home the Female Athlete of the Year award.

In mid-January at the NCAA Convention a number of legislative proposals were brought to the table. One heavy topic was that of contacting prospective student-athletes via Social Media, which will now be allowed at the Division III level.
Cal Lutheran Athletics is proud to announce its participation in the inaugural NCAA Division III Week, April 9-15, which has celebrated academic achievement, athletic accomplishment, leadership and community service among CLU student-athletes.
