Jim McHugh is the Associate Vice President for Athletic at California Lutheran University (CLU) where he is responsible for the overall leadership of CLU Athletics, Athletic Facilities, Athletic-related fundraising, Athletic-related programming, student-athlete recruitment, and Athletics Branding and Sports information.
Prior to this, he spent 26 years in the Navy as a Naval Flight Officer flying the E-2C Hawkeye and accumulating over 2,800 flight hours and over 400 carrier arrested landings. He commanded an E-2C squadron and was Commanding Officer of Naval Base Ventura County. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity Ventura County, President’s Council of the Red Cross of Ventura County, and Executive Committee member of Regional Defense Partnership for the 21st Century. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and two Master’s Degrees from Webster University and U.S. Naval War College. He lives in Camarillo with his wife and three daughters.
