Hayley Blaauw was named an assistant coach of the Cal Lutheran men's and women's swimming and diving programs in August of 2019.

Blaauw comes to Cal Lutheran as a 2019 graduate from Queens University of Charlotte. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She swam for the Royals, helping them achieve four of the last five National Titles for NCAA Division II Swimming. During her time as a Royal, she was a captain of the team for her junior and senior years and was awarded Honorable Mention All-American for the 400 IM, 500 freestyle, and 1000 freestyle. She was also awarded All-Conference in the 200 Breaststroke, 400 IM, and 1000 Freestyle. While at Queens, Blaauw was able to work with coaches like Jeff Dugdale, John Long, Julia Czentye, David Marsh, and Bob Groseth, who helped coach several Olympians for the 2016 Olympics. She is looking forward to sharing her experiences with Cal Lutheran. 

Blaauw graduated from Thousand Oaks High School in 2015, earning a four-year varsity letter for the swim team under Thomas Smith. She continues to have the 100 Breaststroke record for the Lancers. She also swam for local swim club CSSC under Lauren Miles (surname Hancock). While apart of CSSC, she qualified for Winter 2015 Jr. Nationals in the 200 Breaststroke, and Summer 2015 Jr. Nationals in the 400 Medley Relay. She was named Scholastic All-American for USA Swimming in 2015.  She is excited to be a part of the CLU Swim and Dive Program.
