Years at Cal Lutheran: 1995-1998
Fredrik Nanhed made a huge impact on the football field at California Lutheran University despite missing his junior season with a torn ACL. As a freshman in 1995, he broke the NCAA Division III freshman rushing record with 1,380 yards, which still stood as the CLU single season rushing record at the time of his induction.
In his sophomore season, he ran the ball 129 times for 709 yards and five touchdowns. After missing the next season due to surgery, he came back in 1998 to run for 849 yards and eight touchdowns. Nanhed led the school in scoring in 1995 and 1998 and finished his career with 138 points.
He led CLU in rushing yards in 1995, 1996 and 1998 and finished his career with 2,938 yards, which was still the best total ever at the time of his induction. In three seasons, he compiled a 5.5 yards per carry average and scored 23 touchdowns.
