Kecia Davis, MA, ATC

Kecia began working at CLU in 1991 and has held a variety of positions including Head Women’s basketball coach (1991-1992), Head Women’s softball coach (1994-1998), Assistant Athletic Trainer (1991-1995) and Head Athletic Trainer (1995-present).  She has also taught a plethora of classes in the Exercise Science department, including ATEP (Athletic Training Education Program) core courses and was the Program Director for the ATEP from 2008-2010.

Kecia graduated from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo with her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. She then attended Cal State University, Northridge for her master’s degree in Kinesiology. While at Cal Poly, she played softball and was a NSCA All American her junior year. During her junior and senior years she also worked as a student-athletic trainer for several of Cal Poly’s athletic teams. After college Kecia began her teaching career at Moorpark Community College teaching Physical Education courses and an assistant coach for both the volleyball and softball teams.

Kecia lives in Thousand Oaks with her two children, Ricky (attending Pepperdine) and Korah, and her dogs Callie and Lily. When not at CLU Kecia spends most of her time chasing after her kids, reading, and playing golf and softball.


Cody Owens, MS, ATC

Cody came to California Lutheran University in 2001 as an undergraduate student. He graduated in May of 2005 with a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Athletic Training. The following August he became the graduate assistant for the Athletic Training Department at CLU. Cody was hired on full-time in May of 2007. He then graduated from CLU once again in 2008 with his Master’s in Education with an emphasis is Counseling and Guidance.

Cody hails from Blythe, CA where he was a four-sport athlete at Palo Verde High School. He continued his athletic pursuits at CLU with the football team for one season before turning to the Athletic Training Education Program. Cody now lives in Fillmore with his wife Johanna and his dog Miles. In his free time, Cody enjoys spending time with his wife, playing golf, running, and cooking.


Samantha Olmon, ATC

Samantha came to California Lutheran University in 2006 as an undergraduate student. She graduated in May of 2010 with a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Athletic Training, and a minor in Psychology. After gaining certification in August of 2010, Sam worked as a part-time assistant ATC during the 2010-2011 school year. Sam also works part-time at Los Robles Hospital as an Emergency Medicine Scribe.

Originally from England, Sam's family moved to Belgium and Japan during her childhood before moving to Portland, Oregon in 2004 where she finished high school. Sam now lives in Moorpark with her husband Cole and her dog Sophie. In her free time, Sam loves to spend time with her husband, travel, wakeboard, and cook.
