After rain washed out a single SCIAC game on the road yesterday, the Cal Lutheran baseball team returned to action at Ullman Stadium with a split double header against Pomona-Pitzer and La Verne on Sunday. The Kingsmen routed the Sagehens 19-6 before a dramatic 6-5 come-from-behind win over the Leopards in 11 innings in the nightcap.

The final scheduled SCIAC double header pitted the top two teams in the league standings and a pair of ABCA ranked squads inside of Ullman Stadium today. On George “Sparky” Anderson Field, No. 18 Cal Lutheran and No. 8 Occidental previewed the championship atmosphere that will ensue in the coming weeks with an extra inning battle that went to the Tigers, 4-3, after the Kingsmen downed the visiting team, 16-6, with ease in the opening game of the day.

On a windy afternoon, the second-to-last SCIAC series of the season pitted Cal Lutheran against La Verne on George “Sparky” Anderson Field in a rematch of the 2015 SCIAC Postseason Tournament finale, which went to the Leopards. Today, the Kingsmen avenged that loss with an 8-5 win today inside of Ullman Stadium.
