Kingsmen Clinch Fifth Straight SCIAC Championship

With a one game lead over second-place La Verne entering Saturday, the No. 16 Cal Lutheran baseball team controlled its own destiny and swept Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to claim the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championship for the fifth straight season and 14th overall in program history. The Kingsmen shut out the Stags 5-0 in game one before topping CMS 5-2 at George “Sparky” Anderson Field on Senior Day.

The final SCIAC series of the spring sent the ABCA No. 16 Cal Lutheran baseball team to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps where the Stags stunned the Kingsmen with a 5-4 walk-off victory to make the final day of the regular season more interesting.

On a scorching day in Pasadena, the No. 18 Cal Lutheran baseball team took care of business with a doubleheader sweep over Caltech on Saturday afternoon. In game one, the Kingsmen racked up 16 hits in a 12-5 win while concluding the day with an 8-0 shutout to clinch the series sweep.

A four-game road trip to the Pacific Northwest was a challenge for the ABCA No. 10 Cal Lutheran baseball team as the Kingsmen defeated Puget Sound 9-4 on Thursday before having a 15-game win-streak snapped by sister school Pacific Lutheran on Friday. PLU earned a three-game series sweep.

After starting his collegiate athletic career at the Division I level, he made the transition to CLU where he has found his niche and is able to focus on his academics while he plays the sport he loves in the competitive Division III environment.
