Olivia Leyva


Olivia Leyva had a monster performance at the plate on Saturday at Redlands, nearly hitting for a homerun cycle in an 8-0 victory. The junior three-hole hitter connected for a solo homerun in the fifth, a two-run homerun in the third and a three-run shot in the sixth. In a 6-4 game two win, she was 2-for-4 with a single and a double, driving in a run and scoring twice. On Friday against Chapman, she reached base three times in a tough 2-1 loss. Overall, she hit at a .400 clip with a 1.067 slugging percentage in four games. Leyva drove in seven runs and scored five times. Defensively, she manned third base for all 28 innings, providing two putouts and eight assists. Leyva helped the Regals to a 3-1 week to climb into third in the SCIAC standings.

Austin Kay


In four non-conference games in the Pacific Northwest, Austin Kay batted .438 (7-for-16) to lead the Kingsmen at the plate. The junior shortstop also drove in two runs while scoring one and added one stolen base to his tally. In the trip's opening 9-4 win over Puget Sound on Thursday, Kay went 2-for-4 with a run scored and followed up his performance with a 3-for-4 day at the plate and two RBIs in the series opener against Pacific Lutheran. Kay now has an eight game hitting streak, as well as a hit in 20 of the last 21 games.
