SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Freshman Keegan Sheard set a 36-hole CLU record with a 136 (-8) after carding the lowest round in Division III this year with a 63 (-9) to win the individual championship at the SCIAC No. 2 held at Los Serranos Country Club this weekend. The Wheat Ridge, Colo. native sat one-under through the first nine holes on Saturday before shooting an impressive eight-under 28, with six birdies and an eagle, on the back nine. Sheard wrapped up the tournament with a 73 in round two to finish in first place by two strokes.

Water Polo

Jordan Card led the Regals to their first win at Occidental since 2008 and had a CLU record-setting performance with nine drawn ejections against Redlands earlier in the week. Despite a narrow loss in sudden death overtime to the Bulldogs, the senior from Burbank, Calif. led CLU with four goals and shared team-high honors with three steals. In a 10-5 win over Oxy, Card added a goal, an assist and three more drawn ejections.
