Nick Cohan

Baseball

In four games during the week, Nick Cohan hit .588 (10-for-17) with four runs scored, three RBIs, three walks, two doubles and a stolen base. The sophomore outfielder has been on a tear at the plate and recently extended his hitting streak to double-digits at 10 games. In a 9-3 victory over Whittier on Saturday, Cohan produced his first career four-hit game and added two RBIs, a double and a run. The Redondo Beach, Calif. native scored a run and had at least two hits in all four games during the week and now leads the team with a .458 batting average. Defensively, Cohan added six putouts with no errors, and tallied his first assist of the season.


Sarah Baker

Tennis

Sarah Baker earned her second CLU Female Athlete of the Week award this spring after leading the Regals to victory over UC Santa Cruz and Division II opponent Dominican. The senior from Palmdale, Calif. won five out of her six matches during the week and went a perfect 4-0 in two wins over the weekend. Playing at No. 4 singles against scholarship Dominican, Baker came through with a 6-2, 6-4 victory and cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win against the Banana Slugs. In doubles competition, Baker teamed up with Rebecca Gold where they won all three of their matches and were responsible for the lone point in a loss to Lewis & Clark.
