Jake Petersen


During a weekend sweep of La Verne, senior Jake Petersen earned a game one victory while combining for a .467 average for 11 total bases, with two walks, six runs scored and four RBIs to lead the Kingsmen back into sole possession of first place in the SCIAC standings. The southpaw worked 7.0 innings, striking out six and scattering six hits as he improved to 6-2 on the season, on Friday while also collecting three hits, which included a two-run homerun. On Saturday, he started in left field both games, contributing an RBI single as part of a seven-run eighth inning in a come-from-behind 7-4 victory in the first game of a double header. He followed with a three-hit nightcap, notching a double, that drove in one as he scored three times.  Petersen was perfect in the field for the Kingsmen as well.

Amanda Hamilton

Track & Field

At the final SCIAC Multi-Dual meet of the season Amanda Hamilton improved on her CLU record Triple Jump earing first place points iwth a mark of 11.92m. She also won the 400m Hurdles in a time of 1:04.69, two seconds ahead of the next finisher. Additionally, Hamilton ran on the Regals 4x100m Relay team that clocked a time of 47.98, breaking the 48-second mark for the first time of the spring. The sophomore led the Violet and Gold to an undefeated 8-0 record during the dual meet portion of the 2014 schedule.
