Chelsea Jacoby


Chelsea Jacoby helped Cal Lutheran improve to above .500 for the season, for the first time since November 21, after a stellar week. On Thursday, Jan. 30, Jacoby scored 14 points with five rebounds as CLU defeated Occidental 71-59. On Saturday, Feb. 1, Jacoby scored 11 points during a 15-4 run to start the game and the Regals would never trail, defeating Pomona-Pitzer 76-67. Jacoby finished the game with 16 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals, leading Cal Lutheran to its fourth straight win. For the season, Jacoby is CLU's leading scorer averaging 13 points a game.

Zach Loza

Swimming & Diving

In a dual meet victory at Occidental on Saturday, freshman Zach Loza dominated the freestyle events, winning the 100, 200 and 500, while adding points as part of the top 200 Free Relay team. He was the only swimmer to break the five-minute mark in the 500, hitting the wall in 4:59.02. Loza went a 1:48.85 in the 200, which was more than three seconds ahead of the second place finisher. He also edged the field, swimming a 100 in a 48.77. This season he has scored in every meet and won an event in all but one SCIAC meet this season.
