Aaron Roth

Baseball

SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Just as he has done all season, Aaron Roth carried CLU in every game during its 3-0 march through the SCIAC Tournament as the Kingsmen captured their first conference championship in 12 years. Roth was the star of the weekend, pitching 6.1 shutout innings and earning one win and two saves. The junior closer was nearly unhittable, allowing just three base hits while striking out nine. In game one of the tournament, Roth pitched the final 3.2 innings of a 4-3 victory while earning his sixth win. In game two, Roth came on in relief and pitched the final 1.2 innings, earning his ninth save and helping CLU to a 5-2 victory. In the championship game, Roth held off a ninth inning comeback and fittingly struck out the final batter as he earned his tenth save and CLU captured the tournament title.

McKay Weiler

Women's Golf

McKay Weiler was CLU's top overall finisher at the SCIAC Championships last weekend, coming in 14th place. The freshman shot a combined score of 249 (84-80-85) while earning Second Team All-SCIAC honors. Weiler concluded her season with a stroke average of 83.8 to lead CLU. Her 86.0 stroke average during SCIAC play was 11th best in the conference.
