Scott Peters

Scott Peters helped No. 7 Cal Lutheran complete the sweep over La Verne last weekend when he threw his first career complete-game in a 7-1 victory of the Leopards. The sophomore allowed one run on five hits while striking out two and walking none. Peters hadn't allowed a hit past the fourth inning and was one out away from a shutout before giving up an inside the park homerun on the second-to-last at bat of the game. With the win, Peters improved his record to 7-0 on the mound and lowered his ERA to 2.10. He is currently tied for the league lead in wins and is fourth in ERA.

Blake Lewis

In the final weekend of the season, Blake Lewis was 6-13 (.462 avg.) with one homerun, two doubles, five RBIs and four runs scored as CLU swept No. 22 Chapman and split with Whittier. Not only productive at the plate, Lewis also scored two victories on the mound. In game one against Chapman, Lewis came on in relief and threw 5.0 innings while allowing just one hit as CLU rallied from a four-run deficit. In the final game of the season against the Poets, Lewis went 3-for-4 with a homerun and four RBIs while also pitching the final 4.2 innings and not allowing a run en route to earning the win. Lewis ended the 2013 campaign with nine RBIS in her final six games and helped CLU to 12 SCIAC victories this year, the most in 10 seasons.
