Jake Petersen


Jake Petersen hit .625 in five games this week also earning a victory in his only outing on the mound. After CLU leadoff man Ronnie Burton went down with an injury, Petersen assumed the leadoff role and produced at the plate in all five games. He was 10-for-16 with three doubles, a triple and a homerun while drawing four walks. Petersen drove in six runs and scored 12 times for the Kingsmen as they posted a 5-0 record. On the base paths he was 3-for-3 in stolen bases. On the hill, he threw 3.0 shutout innings against Caltech with three strikeouts. In the field he was perfect with four putouts and an assist. CLU opened the week with wins over Gustavus Adolphus and Luther at the Tucson Invitational and went on to sweep Caltech to remain alone in first place.

Kylee Tomasetti

Water Polo

Kylee Tomasetti led the Regals to a pair of SCIAC wins this week in the pool with 28 blocks and two steals during 10-9 and 12-6 wins over Pomona-Pitzer and Chapman, respectively, on Wednesday and Saturday. The senior posted a season-high 16 saves against the Sagehens, adding a steal. In the second half she blocked 10 Hens shots as CLU held on for the win. On Saturday, she came back with a dozen blocks, adding a steal, as CLU doubled up the Panthers. She has started all three SCIAC games this year and has 10 or more blocks in each game.
