Starla Wright


Starla Wright continues to pace the Regals as Cal Lutheran locked up their sixth SCIAC title in program history this week. The senior guard averaged a double-double with 23.0 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per contest against Redlands and La Verne the week of Feb. 11-17. Wright started off the week with a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double against the Bulldogs, also coming away with a steal. Saturday evening to clinch the top spot in the SCIAC, while propelling the CLU senior class to their 72nd win in their four year careers to become the third winningest class in Cal Lutheran history, the forward poured in 26 points on 10-for-14 shooting with nine boards, a block, an assist and a steal. Wright shot at a .586 clip for the week and was 11-for-12 (91.7 percent) from the charity stripe. She grabbed five offensive rebounds in each game for the Regals.

Nick Boggan


Nick Boggan went 7-for-15 with five RBIs, two doubles and a homerun as Cal Lutheran took two out of  three from George Fox. In the series finale, Boggan was at his best when the Kingsmen needed him most. Trailing 11-5 in the bottom of the eighth, Boggan hit a 400-foot, two-run homerun to dead centerfield as part of four-run inning for CLU. After George Fox scored two more runs in the top of the ninth, Boggan capped off a two-out rally when he connected for the game-winning RBI single as Cal Lutheran scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Bruins 14-13. On Friday, Boggan opened the weekend with a 2-for-5 performance at the plate with a double and three RBIs and was 3-for-4, which included a double, at the plate in game two. The first baseman was also outstanding defensively, finishing with 22 putouts in the three games and has a 1.000 fielding percentage through six games.
