Zach Shultis


SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Zach Shultis led the No. 8 Cal Lutheran Kingsmen to a 56-7 homecoming victory. He finished 21-for-25 for 368 yards and five touchdowns in three quarters without an interception. The Thousand Oaks, Calif. native hit seven different targets with four players scoring touchdowns of 26, 29, six, six and five yards. Shultis’ longest pass of the day was a 46-yard completion. The senior was also 8-for-8 in PATs today. Since taking over as the QB midway through the Redlands game three weeks ago Shultis is 51-for-69 (74%) for 745 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Shannon Pearson


Shannon Pearson helped No. 8 Cal Lutheran back to a tie atop the SCIAC standings with a 3-0 week in which the Regals swept past La Verne, Whittier and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in three apiece all on the road. The senior produced 30 kills for a .410 hitting percentage with 3.33 kills per game. She added a solo block in each match and tacked on four block assists against La Verne and two against CMS. Pearson hit at identical .348 clips to open and close the week with 11 and 10 kills against ULV and CMS, respectively. Against the Athenas she was errorless in 17 chances.
