SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Nicholas Ballou advanced to the Division III Men’s Tennis Singles Final, although he was edged, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2, by No. 1 seed Dillon Pottish of Emory in the championship match.

He led the Kingsmen to a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament and he and doubles partner Ray Worley earned All-America recognition as they advanced to the quarterfinals as a team.

Ballou concluded his junior campaign with a 26-7 singles record, a 25-5 doubles record, a pair of All-America nods, a SCIAC Player of the Year recognition and an Ojai Tournament title.


Britlyn Garrett

Women's Track & Field

SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Britlyn Garrett ended her collegiate career on the highest note possible. Already having locked up the Division III Javelin Title at the NCAA Track & Field Championships, she threw a 2.41m personal best and new CLU school record mark of 47.14m on her final attempt.

Garrett was the SCIAC Champion in the event earlier in May and entered the meet as the No. 2 seed. She was the only SCIAC track & field athlete to win a National Title in 2012.
