Julea Juarez

Women's Track & Field

Running two lifetime bests at the first SCIAC Quad Meet on Saturday, Juarez was a double winner taking the 200 meters (26.26) and 400 meters (59.80). Both times rank in the top-10 all-time in Cal Lutheran history.

She anchored both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays which finished runner-up. The time recorded in the 4x400 ranks as the fourth fastest team in program history.

Cal Lutheran defeated La Verne 88-73 and fell 90-73 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Byron Minnich


CLU baseball won all four of its contests including a Monday victory over Redlands and a series sweep of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, with Minnich on the mound to finish every game.

In the weekend series with CMS, the Kingsmen won all three games by one run with the junior reliever posting a 1-0 record with two saves. Minnich struck out seven in 4.2 innings pitched while allowing only one earned run. Against the Bulldogs he closed out the final two innings striking out two while allowing no earned runs.

Over the past week his numbers include nine strikeouts to only one walk and a 1.35 earned run average.

Cal Lutheran is currently tied for first place in the SCIAC following four straight conference wins.
