Jordan Barta


SCIAC Athlete of the Week

The senior defensive lineman was selected to the National Team of the Week following his outstanding performance during the team's 30-3 road win over Whittier this past Saturday. Barta up five sacks and currently leads D-III averaging two sacks per contest.

Barta recorded five of the nine Kingsmen sacks by the defensive line group against the Poets, and forced one of three Whittier fumbles in the process.

He currently leads the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) in sacks (8), tackles for loss (8) and fumbles forced (2).

Brandon Gross

Men's Water Polo

Cal Lutheran went 3-1 this past weekend at the Claremont Convergence and was led offensively by Brandon Gross' 14 goals.

The team's leading scorer put away six goals in a 17-6 victory over Washington & Jefferson to begin the event schedule.

Gross scored multiple times in each game including a four-goal performance in the CC finale during a 14-10 victory over Vanguard.

The junior moved into fourth on the CLU all-time scoring list and needs three more goals for 100 in his career.

Casy McWhirk


The CLU volleyball team went 4-0 this past week improving its current win streak to 15 matches.

McWhirk posted a double-double with a career-high 15 kills to go along with 11 digs in a 3-1 victory over Schreiner (TX) at the Leopard Invite on Saturday.

For the week she put down 36 kills and hit at a .400 clip. McWhirk ranked third on the team with 28 digs, four aces and five block assists.
