Megan Thorpe


The senior outside hitter helped the volleyball team to three SCIAC victories and totaled 46 kills and 38 digs in those matches.

In a first place showdown at Occidental Thorpe put down 18 kills to go along with 16 digs in a 3-1 victory. Against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps she led all players with four aces while tallying 12 kills and 15 digs in CLU's 3-1 win.

On Saturday at Pomona-Pitzer the senior posted a match-high 16 kills and added an ace and seven digs in a three-set win.

SCIAC Athlete of the Week

In the crucial conference opener for the CLU football team at Redlands, sophomore J.D. Austin came up big with a game-high 10 tackles including eight of the solo variety.

The defensive back came up with a game-changing interception in the second quarter when he returned an interception 43 yards down to the two yard line, setting up the third and final Kingsmen touchdown of the game.

Austin also led all players with three pass breakups. The interception was the first of his collegiate career.

Allison Kerr


SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Senior Allison Kerr was named American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III National Player of the Week.

Kerr led the Regals volleyball team to three conference victories after she racked up 50 kills and posted a .489 attack percentage in wins over Occidental, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer.

In a first place showdown on Wednesday at OXY, the senior middle led all players with 19 kills and a .417 hitting percentage.

On Friday against CMS, Kerr again set match-highs in kills (17) and attack percentage (.516).

At Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday night, Kerr led the Regals to a 3-0 sweep of the Sagehens with 14 kills on just 23 attempts. She made just one error and led all players with a .565 kill percentage.
